The Story

A Love Story with Bahia
From 2009 to 2011, we lived in Bahia, managing an eco-hotel called Art Jungle. This experience connected our Parisian projects—Amerindian brunches and Sol Semilla, a superfood brand—with our return to Brazil. The Itacaré region, with its lush Atlantic Forest, rivers, waterfalls, cacao, and vibrant cultural heritage, deeply inspired us.
The Birth of Mana Inani
On February 2, 2022, a day dedicated to Yemanjá, the goddess of the oceans, we learned of a 32-hectare land for sale near Conduru Natural Park. With our savings and support from three other families, we purchased it, naming it Mana Inani, "land of the birds."
From Cattle to Cacao
Previously a cattle ranch, the land now grows cacao, açaí, and pupunha. The former owners had begun biodynamic farming, which we continue. Mana Inani, surrounded by primary forest and four springs, is a peaceful sanctuary with no internet—just a deep connection to nature.
We see ourselves as guardians, not owners, and plan to donate the land to the NGO Tempo é Arte, to be registered in Fall 2025, to further our vision.
Our Progress
Over the past two years, we conducted a thorough land study with our friend Felipe, covering water, energy, and agriculture. We hired cacao specialists Gel and Dico to resume production, tackling tasks like weeding and pruning. Spiritual support from friends and groups has strengthened our resolve.
This year, we’re building a cacao-drying structure and developing water and energy systems for the first house, the starting point for collective life.
Cacao’s Role
Cacao (Theobroma cacao, "food of the gods") preserves the Atlantic Forest and supports Bahia’s reputation for world-class cacao. It’s a key part of our ecosystem.
Mana Inani’s Vision
Mana Inani will be a space for:
Retreats and personal development
Rituals, celebrations, and body practices
Cultural exchange with Huni Kuin families from the Amazon
Supporting local youth and fostering economic and cultural growth
How to Get Involved
We’re seeking partners to join us as neighbors, with opportunities to purchase nearby 3-hectare plots for “green” tourism. Soon, we’ll launch a fundraising campaign for reforestation, spring revitalization, and planting fruit trees (coconut, papaya, pineapple). Donations to our association, Tempo é Arte, are welcome, as are your ideas and talents.
Join us in this journey to create a sanctuary of nature, culture, and community!

Our Story
In 2008, my partner Joelma and I dreamed of creating a harmonious living space in nature, focused on food autonomy, slowing down, and connecting with the divine. We envisioned a place open to our community, family, and friends.
